• SELLOFF Gold fell about 4% on Sept. 28 to a seven-week low near $4,118. It traded around $4,510 earlier this month.
• YIELDS Real 10-year yields hit 2.87%, the highest on record outside the 2008 Lehman crisis. Traders see a 2-in-3 chance of another Fed hike in October.
• IMPORTS China imported 1,141 tonnes of gold Jan–Aug, already more than all of 2025. At this pace: about 1,700t, a high for the decade.
